Maple Village is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher for our half-day preschool-Pre K program. We are searching for a loving and creative individual with a passion for early childhood education. Our preschool has been accredited for 35 years and is a non-profit program licensed by the MA Department of Early Education and Care. The school serves children ages 2.9 to 5 years old and includes one Lead teacher who will work alongside you.

Key Responsibilities:

● Leadership and Management: Help to oversee the daily operations of the preschool program, ensuring a safe, clean, and engaging environment for children and staff. Work with the Executive Board and Director/ Lead Teacher to provide a quality educational program.

● Curriculum Development: Help to plan and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum that meets the needs of all students, incorporating activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.

● Teaching and Instruction: Assist and lead classroom activities and instruction, providing hands-on, interactive, and inclusive learning experiences for children. Serve as a role model, using a growth mindset to develop young minds and inspire a love of learning

● Facilitate Collaboration: Provide support to the Director/Lead Teacher in the program, fostering a cooperative and positive work environment.

● Parent Communication: Establish and maintain open, regular communication with parents and caregivers, including participating in parent-teacher conferences and providing updates on children's progress and achievements.

● Regulatory Compliance: Work with the Executive Board and Director/Lead Teacher to ensure the program complies with local, state, and federal regulations. Help maintain and prepare necessary documentation and records for the MA Department of Early Education and Care inspection, and implement any changes required due to EEC inspections.

● Professional Development: Pursue ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.

● Administrative Duties: Assist in preparing all paperwork for the start of the school year as needed, helping to maintain student files and assist in writing newsletters and other informational forms.

Qualifications:

● Preschool Teacher certification preferred but not required

● Minimum of 2 years of experience in early childhood education

● Strong understanding of child developmentally appropriate practices

● Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

● Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment

● CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to become certified)

● Ability to pass a background check

Compensation:

This position is part-time with compensation at $21-24/hour. The position is 23 hours per week aligning with the half-day preschool program schedule. Our pre-K class meets on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9am-1pm, and our preschool class meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am-12pm. There is an additional hour each day for planning and classroom preparation. The preschool follows the public-school calendar, including paid holidays and school vacations. The program does not operate during the summer months.
